The Cotton wool is a cost effective way for wound treatment. It is gentle on the skin and allows blood and fluids to pass through and be absorbed. The cotton wool is suitable for many procedures such as wound cleansing, applying disinfectant to an injury, cleaning excess fluid or exudate from the wound. Since the loose fibers can break away, it is not entirely suitable for direct use on open wounds.
